Claim Record
Estimates, photographs, reports, measurements, and prior repair information are organized and reviewed.
Property insurance appraisal
Independent appraisal of disputed repair scope, pricing, and amount of loss for residential and commercial property claims.
What this means
Used whenThe parties agree that a covered loss occurred but do not agree on repair scope, pricing, or the amount of loss.
Appraisal is a process used when the parties disagree about the amount of a property loss. Each party selects an appraiser. The appraisers review the claim, inspect the property when useful, and develop independent positions on repair scope and cost. They then work to resolve the disputed items. Appraisal generally addresses the amount of loss, not policy coverage.

Damage documentation
Damage, measurements, photographs, estimates, and field conditions are reviewed together. The result is an organized position that can be clearly explained and supported.
What we look at
The assignment starts with the items the parties do not agree on. We review the claim record and field conditions, build an independent position, and communicate it clearly.
Estimates, photographs, reports, measurements, and prior repair information are organized and reviewed.
When useful, we inspect the property and compare the observed conditions with the proposed repair scope.
Repair methods, quantities, pricing, and related work are evaluated to form an independent position.
We work directly with the other appraiser. Items that remain disputed may be presented to the umpire.
